Service Area

Energy Consulting Services like energy audits and other, are typically conducted by our AEE Certified Energy Mangers for complex residential, commercial, or industrial buildings or processes and often span multiple days and multiple site visits, we extend our service area beyond the local region. This includes projects for clients with very advanced needs across the West Coast. We’ve also maintained a strong presence in Hawaii over the years and continue to serve our valued clients throughout the islands. We are working on a regular basis in :

Our Energy Consulting Services

Our consulting process is built on entirely customized procedures, beginning with a comprehensive mapping of energy flows unique to each specific site, facility, or building. This is primarily accomplished through a detailed energy audit—a rigorous assessment of the systems, processes, and the quality of existing on-site energy generation, if present. We also evaluate the property's capability to integrate new or expanded renewable systems to further offset utility costs. By identifying exactly where energy is being lost, underutilized, or could be offset by on-site production, we provide data-driven recommendations to optimize performance and significantly reduce operational costs.

We go beyond standard reviews by integrating a thorough analysis of utility billing with real-time measurements to pinpoint specific usage patterns. Our evaluation covers the entire energy lifecycle—from energy generation to building envelopes, HVAC systems, and industrial processes. The result is a clear, actionable report designed to enhance comfort and sustainability while securing long-term financial savings.

  • Infrared Scans
Using advanced infrared technology, we detect hidden issues behind walls, ceilings, and equipment—such as missing insulation, moisture intrusion, air leaks, and heat loss—by capturing temperature differences invisible to the eye. This scan also reveals under-designed or failing electrical components, including power lines, switchgear, transformers, and connections, helping to prevent hazards and improve system reliability. It's a fast, non-invasive tool that adds significant value to energy audits.

  • Annual Energy Bill Evaluation
Understanding the bills is a key part of the energy audit, where we analyze your historical utility usage to identify trends, inefficiencies, and unexpected consumption patterns. For commercial and industrial clients, we also assess demand tariffs to understand peak usage charges and how they impact overall costs. By comparing utility bills with real-time energy measurements, we identify targeted opportunities to improve efficiency and lower your monthly expenses.

  • Facility and Building System Evaluation
This evaluation is a core component of the energy audit, focusing on the performance of key systems such as lighting, HVAC, pumps, and other mechanical and electrical infrastructure. We assess how efficiently these systems operate individually and together, identifying areas of energy waste, outdated equipment, or control issues. This evaluation helps uncover opportunities for upgrades or adjustments that can significantly reduce energy consumption and improve occupant comfort. The goal is to ensure your building systems are aligned with both performance and cost-efficiency goals.

  • Energy Demand Evaluation
Electric demand is critical for clients on demand-based utility tariffs, where charges are influenced not just by total energy use but by peak usage periods. We analyze when and how your building draws the most power, identifying patterns that trigger higher demand charges. By understanding and managing these peaks—often caused by HVAC cycles, industrial equipment, or simultaneous loads—we can recommend strategies to reduce demand spikes and lower monthly utility costs. This evaluation is essential for improving cost predictability and long-term energy efficiency.

  • Ventilation & Airflow Analysis
We check for proper air exchange, pressure balancing, and ventilation efficiency, especially in tight or high-occupancy buildings.

  • Controls & Automation Review
We analyze building automation systems (BAS), thermostats, lighting controls, and occupancy sensors to ensure systems run only when needed.

  • On-Site Generation & Storage Review
We evaluate solar PV, solar thermal, batteries, and backup generators to ensure they integrate efficiently and are properly sized and utilized.

  • Commercial/Industrial Processes Review
This is a vital part of an energy audit for facilities with energy-intensive operations. We evaluate specific machinery, production lines, or process systems to identify inefficiencies, energy waste, and opportunities for optimization. It includes assessing runtime schedules, equipment performance, and interaction with other building systems. Targeted improvements can lead to substantial energy and cost savings without compromising productivity or output quality.

  • Digital Energy Audit Report
You'll receive a clear, easy-to-navigate digital report that can be downloaded or shared instantly, giving you the insights you need to make informed decisions.

  • Detailed Measure List
A prioritized list of recommended improvements or repairs based on audit findings, each linked to specific issues identified in your report. Measures include estimated costs, energy savings potential, and simple payback calculations to help you make informed, cost-effective decisions.

The Audit Usually Includes

Monitoring provides an ongoing, real-time window into how your property consumes energy. For complex facilities, we often partner with clients for long-term energy, water, air, and other, monitoring using our proprietary Power Performance Tracker. By utilizing an independent cellular connection, our hardware can operate outside of local IT networks—ensuring uninterrupted data reliability and bypassing the security hurdles of firewalls. We design the monitoring in-house and we install our equipment at the facility or support the facility electrician installing our unit and all sensors.

This data-driven approach scales to meet the needs of any client:

  • For Residential Properties: We identify usage patterns and unexpected spikes that impact comfort or utility bills, allowing for immediate corrective action.

  • For Commercial & Industrial Settings: Continuous monitoring supports high-level energy management goals, detects anomalies in real time, and ensures that complex systems operate efficiently over the long term.

Rather than a one-time snapshot, we provide a persistent stream of high-fidelity data. This enables proactive maintenance, validates energy-saving measures, and secures long-term cost savings by ensuring your building’s performance never drifts.

Power Performance Monitoring

Energy System Design

We offer independent, data-driven consulting for solar PV and battery storage systems, as well as other renewable generation. Using your energy bills, monitoring data, available space, and site-specific conditions, we help determine the appropriate system size for your needs. While we do not sell or recommend specific components, we assist you in evaluating vendor quotes and system proposals. Our goal is to ensure you make informed, cost-effective decisions. On-site evaluations and consulting are optional and highly recommended for optimal results.
